| I had an evening meal on 5th Aug 2009. The most expensive on the menu was Tornedos Rossini, my favourite. 1. I was not asked how I would like the fillet cooked, as a result it was slightly overcooked and dry. 2. The base of a T.R. is a crouton, none given. 3. The pate rather than being across the top of the fillet was placed alongside. Not a problem normally but it was in the sauce which totally affected the flavour and ruined it. I brought all these details to the waitress at the start of the meal but received no response until I asked again, only to get the answer the Chef says that's how it comes. | We came to the Spalding area 18 Months ago The 'Mermaid' was one of the first Pubs to eat in, I can only say SUPERB the place is spotless, the staff are the best and very well trained and the food is the best in the Spalding area by a long way! its not the cheapest but if you want good food you have to pay, we have eaten in probably 50 different pubs or restaurants in the last 18 Months and still every 2 weeks we go to the 'Mermaid' as we know with the extensive quality food menu we will never be dissapointed.[Report for Removal] | Ken Challans Spalding Lincs |

| Really amazing food and the service is outstanding. Everyone is really friendly and the outside bar and river makes the pub seem extremely attractive!
