Small but lovely little country pub serving well kept real ales, traditional ciders, as well as the normal lagers etc., and a compact but well thought out menu of superbly cooked food at reasonable prices. Well worth a visit.[Report for Removal] Edward

This would appear to be a quaint village pub, somewhere you could drive to on a Sunday afternoon and have a quiet drink...apparently not! After looking on their website and seeing that they are open until 6pm on a Sunday from March onwards (today's date is 15th March) we decided to check it out. Upon arrival at 4pm, we were not greeted warmly. Instead we were told we could not come in as they were closing. We enquired as to whether we could have a drink and sit in the garden and they agreed. When my husband then tried to pay for our drinks using his debit card the landlord exclaimed 'what kind of people come to a quiet pub at closing time and don't bring any money'? This was quite a shock for us as we have been to many establishments where card payments for any amount is acceptable. My husband told the landlord that we unfortunately had no cash on us. The landlord then said very rudely (infront of other paying customers) that we were to go and not come back until we had some money. I am extremely offended at this and will not be recommending this apparently quaint pub to anyone! Try the Royal Oak at Ramsden if you don't want to be offended and embarassed.[Report for Removal] Mrs Smith
