| This is the worst pub in Banbury. Do NOT go here. I had the unfortunate experience of going here on the weekend and having lunch here and the food was disgusting. The interior and the layout of the pub is bad as well. I ordered the Pie and mash with lacquer. To say this is the worst pub food I’ve ever had is quite something. The pie was something which had been purchased from Lidels - the kind you get 2 for £1 and the mash is the worst I have ever been served. It was full of lumps and had the consistency of cold porridge with sawdust mixed in it. When I mentioned this to the woman who brought the food out she replied "That’s the way we serve mashed potato in England......." I’m from New Zealand and have lived here for 11 years and have an English wife and to try and insult my intelligence by playing the "ignorant foreigner" card was a joke.
