| I first visited the Cross Keys as an evacuee as I was staying at Sherbrook Farm with my mother. I remember my father taking me there on one of his visits. There were stone floors and shining brass with herbs on hooks in the ceiling. All the old men sat around the blazing open fire and I had be very quiet. | Have been going to the Cross Keys at Uppermill for the last 2 years and I must say Wendy and her team give an excellent reception. Nothing is too much trouble, and the place is absolutely spotless. Big roaring log fires in the winter and nice and airy in the summer. You can sit in their lovely paved beer garden or be nice and cosy inside. The food is brilliant and excellent value for money with good sized portions. The roast dinner is superb. Well done to Wendy and the team and see you next week!
