| A group of eleven of us from a local Lions Club had Sunday lunch here today after visiting the nearby St.George,s Whisky Distillery. Nine of us went for the traditional Sunday roast (two courses £8.95), one had a sirloin steak and the other scampi and chips. I myself had roast lamb which was tender and plentiful, the roast potatoes were excellent. This was served with a bowl of local seasonal vegetables, more than we could eat. My friend's steak was tender and cooked just as he liked it. A good choice of sweets also. The staff were very friendly and obliging. | The restaurant was virtually empty on the Saturday night which we put down to the noisy i8th party disco in the function room next door. With hindsight, it might have been something else. Despite a very pleasant and delightful waitress, the meals were slow emerging from the kitchen; they only had 5 steaks for the whole restaurant despite having a half page of steaks on the menu, including their speciality, supposedly supplied by the famous local butcher; when those lucky enough to get the steaks were served, the steaks were completely massacred; the vegtables and salads were unappealling and the fish caused violent illness later that night. | Went for a meal in this pub over the weekend, now under new management, previously we have had excellent meals here but we were very disappointed. The meal can only be described as amateurish, expensive, small portions and has clearly taken a nosedive in recent times. The only saving grace was a lovely helpful waitress.
