| Visited the pub last week 5th October 2007 - What a fabulous loccation, a great drive from the South. However really disappointed with the the service from sullen female barperson who could barely converse (Pam or Pat ?).Slow un-friendly service. We ordered two ploughmans lunches which were very poor. Two pints of bitter, two cokes and the meals £18.00. I doubt that she is the owner otherwise she would have been exuded some customer service to make sure we come back. | Oldest pub in Wales and possibly oldest in Britain, built before 1100. Courthouse upstairs where 180 poor souls were sentenced to death and hanged on a beam on the stairs over the centuries. Plenty of ghosts in this place !! Medieval doors and windows, flagstone floors, roaring log fires with a ledge to leave a drink for the devil.
