| Beautiful country pub with a beer garden, my partner and I visited in the summer and had a bar snack and in all fairness we enjoyed our afternoon. Upon our return for an evening meal last night I wish we had gone to the Waun y clare! The lady who took our order didnt make a note of what we ordered and returned twice to confirm what we had chosen! The starters were acceptable, my partner had prawn cocktail made with frozen prawns I suspect, I had garlic bread with cheese which wa bland and very tough. The main meals were disgraceful, we both opted for the gammon which was so overcooked it was tougher than an army boot. The lady who served us was somewhat over familiar and kept calling me "BABE"!!! When the so called cook arrived with our main meals, he came over my right shoulder and ordered my partner to take the plate from him instead of moving around and placing it in front of her!!! All in all the only saving grace was the company of my partner who always manages a smile and a laugh. Take a tip, stay home and cook yourself even if you don't know a tin of beans from a t-bone steak you are bound to produce something better than what we had. | ABSOLOUTLY SHOCKING. My family of twelve - nine adults and three children booked for a birthday meal at 6:30pm on a Saturday in December 2006. We arrived at 6:30pm prompt and purchased drinks before we were seated but the mood was soon to be spoilt as we were told that the table we had booked over a month prior had to vacated by 8:15. It was 6:45 by the time we were seated so with only an hour and a half to enjoy a very important family occasion we had no choice but to leave. We asked to see the manager immediately but he was not available (USUAL STORY). We could only speak to the very young members of staff which were completely out of there depth with running a restaurant without any management on the premises. As you can imagine this ruined the whole evening for everyone.
