| The chainbridge use to be a wonderful place for lovely food, friendly welcome and good food. However since the new owners have taken over, they have completely ruined it. It is no longer cosy, but very open planned and then lots of tables cramped together. The food was limited, awful and expensive. While we were there the chef left before the dinners so we were unable to order desert, and the manager? well she and her daughter had gone to visit her cousin at the Goytre arms! Very poor service all round, avoid avoid, Monmouthshire has lots more better places to eat[Report for Removal] | Donna 238 Pontypool Gwent |

| Love this place! Like the previous reviewer we have been going back every few weeks or so since we found this gem. Its not posh or anything but it is tastfully decorated, clean and the staff are nice enough (I am always pleased when I go in a pub that doesn't have all those dingy brass things hanging up) so the chainbridge is a breath of fresh air with its uncluttered approach - rare for a country pub. The food is awesome considering the price which is very reasonable imo! My partner is a fan of the pie of the day and always suggests going there so he can find out what it is that day. I have had some rather nice homemade sticky toffee pudding and cakes - yum! To sum up, if you like somewhere that feels modern but also cosy and want a nice sit on a sofa with a coffee while your other half gets slowly toasted on real ale this place is perfect for you too.[Report for Removal] | Jess Penperlleni Monmouthshire |

| I ate at this pub recently, and you can see a vast improvement in the place. The landlord and lady were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. The pub has recenlty been redecorated and looks and feels clean and fresh. The meal was amazing. They have changed the menu, and now serve pies. This is fantastic and a change from eating frozen warmed up meals! Very traditional and rustic. Thank you.[Report for Removal] | Sue Usk Monmouthshire |
