| We visited today and sat in a seat to the left of the door, to be told we would have to move as the waitress was by herself. We said we'd prefer to sit where we were as i have arthritis and was ready to sit. We did not see why it was an issue, surely the waitress could walk the few steps to us? It was in same room as other diners. As we waited for our meal there were several flys and it concerned us where food was. The meal was okay, tho, peas cold, replaced on imforming staff. a glasses were dirty. On paying for bill we were charged £4 over! This was sorted with staff. Staff pleasant enough and think it is maybe not their fault that they seemed to be understaffed, as only 1 barman who was also taking orders. | I am not normally a person to complain however I feel fellow customers need to know my experience at The Hermitage Inn. First we were waiting for a good hour just to have our order taken, then when the lady arrived she was very abrupt and sharp however we let it go. After the rude encounter we were horrified to hear the foul language coming from the kitchen we were even more shocked to see the landlord fly into the kitchen and join in with the antics. Moving on to our food which was more of a disapointment than the atmosphere, it was obviously microwaved several times over to heat. I had the lasagne which tasted of nothing but charred mince and rubbery pasta. My husband had the sirloin steak which was ordered rare unfortunatley it was completley over done, the chips where undercooked unlike the steak!On the other hand the mushrooms and onion rings were quite nice. | Have just spent 4 days in Warkworth and ate here twice.On the Thursday evening it was very quiet, on Saturday night much busier (about what you would expect form a village pub) so I think you have to expect the staff to be under some pressure. | My wife and I had a meal in your inn on Tuesday 5th June and I have to say that the main courses we both had were the worst meals we have had ever in a pub , and we have had a lot. My wife had the special Val something and it was like dried cardboard . I had the Lasagne which was like dried rubber. The girl serving us was rushed of her feet and did ask us if we had enjoyed it and we did say no which she apologised for. I though feel you are to blame for the meal not her so I left it at that. My wife and I have never complained about meals in the past and it is obvious we do not want our money back.
