| Went here today Monday 3rd May I ordered the lamb shank which came with a handful of peas and carrots and something they tried to pass as mashed potato it was vile it was glucky and an aweful colour nothing like I have seen before - I complained to the waitress when she asked if everything was ok and she totally dismissed my comment re the mashed potato I noticed also that the lady behind us left her sausage and mash :( [Report for Removal] | Mrs A Watson Newcastle upon tyne tyne and wear |

| just been there for a meal with the family, what a shock as we have been before and always found it good, today was shocking! Hard dry chips that had obvoiusly been standing for ages, my meal and the kids meals, has things missing, we asked for them and they were brought to us and dumped on the table, my husbands meal was cold and tasteless. we were asked how our meal was when they cleared the plates, we both commented not good, but NOTHING was done! | went here with my girlfriend and we both ordered the mixed grill with the award winning sausages, think they must have won an award for being tasteless, the chicked was dry overcooked and rock solid round the edges in fact all the meat was tough dry and overcooked. Me and my girlfriend actually left here still hungry as we left most of it. had been here a couple of years ago and it was great what has happened to it but i certainly will not go back i honestly wish i had gone to the cafe in morrisons next door as the food they serve is better [Report for Removal] | Troy newcastle tyne and wear |

| Hello, we went to the magic lantern for my daughters 13th birthday as she loves it there for her bangers and mash in big yorkie. We waited 45 mins for our food to come just 4 of us, when i asked what the problem was, we were told limited chefs! (have they never heard of cover). I had hunters chicken with chips which is normally very yummy, the chicken you could not cut near the edges or eat it as it was rock hard, twice i asked them to take my plate away and change the chips as they were full of grease and no potato inside. My daughters sausages were nearly black and again could only cut and eat the middle section, it was clear they have been sitting there for hours!!! this pub has gone down hill!! we did not want to give them anymore of or money so we went to a supermarket and bought desserts and ate them in the comfort of our own home. Oh yes and yet again the tables were sticky!! The coupke on the table next to us waited over 50 mins they said for two lots of steak and eggs, and then they were missing the onion rings to go with there dinner. i would not waste anymore money going here, try the Keel Row at Seaton Delaval, they do lovely food and you get a table check![Report for Removal] | natalie walters whitley bay tyne and wear |

| Since the refurb at the Magic Lantern we decided to visit it for one last time. We were very surprised. The menu was plentiful, the service had greatly improved and there was a noticeable change to management. The pub itself is now clean and very welcoming. The majority of staff have changed. The food has improved considerably and we enjoyed our overall visit. The girls in the new Fuzzy Ed's were really pleasant and helpful. | i have been to the magic lantern numerous times since the pub has reopened. the management have changed and the pub gets better with every visit. the first time we went to the pub we were welcomed by the new management barry and kath who then introduced us to their deputy a young lad called richie best barman there very entertaining! the new menu is alot better and the food is better now than it has been for a long time, the music is more up to date and there are some of the "kids" that worked there still present in the pub and they are the ones who keep us going there is a young girl who gives us excellent service every time we go she's brilliant with the kids she used to work in the wacky which hasnt been the same since she left to be quite honest. they newly named funhouse could do with a clean and another refurb but the pub is fantastic i have no complaints at all. good work guys![Report for Removal] | lilly duffy north shields tyne and wear |

| We have just been to the magic lantern for our dinner and will never go back. My husband decided to have a sweet. Twenty minutes later i asked where our sweet were and the assistant told us our order had already been delivered. I told her we never had our sweet and it took some complaining befor she believed me. So we had paid over £8.00 for pudding we had never recieved and the assistant didnt believe us. we eventually got our sweet but left feeling like criminals. | We went to the Magic Lantern today since it had been refurbished. I can tell you we wont be going back and I would have much preferred going to Mc Donalds. The steak was very chewy and the chips were undercooked. Although it is two for one they use very poor quality products.
