| We heard that this pub had new management and thought that we would test out the food yesterday. We arrived about 7pm and were pleasantly surprised to find that it was 'Steak Night' where you could get 2 homemade soups and 2 10oz sirloin steaks with all the trimmings for £19.95. The food was served quickly and the quality was great. Overall the staff were friendly and welcomed us and the food was delicious. | I visited the Potter's Wheel with my husband and my daughter for lunch on Easter Monday and it was absolutely terrible. We were told when we arrived that the advertised Special Menu was not being served as it was Bank Holiday and we could only choose from the A La Carte menu. This was fine however everyone that came in after us was given both menus but were told some of the food on the Special Menu was not ready. We waited an hour and a half for our main course. when I asked if there was a problem in the kitchen I was told yes, they were short staffed. I suggested that perhaps they should have informed people on their arrival, which they did do following my suggestion. However they told them half an hour which was a big understatement! When our food eventually arrived it was disgusting, it looked like it had been thrown on the plate and the oven chips were not cooked, we had to leave them. Even though I told this to the waitress we were still charged full price. The service was appauling and a number of other customers got up and left before their food arrived as they had waited so long.
