| The Oakley Arms has a checkered history and has never quite been the successful and well loved pub that it should be; considering it's beautiful, historic appearance and location in the middle of a popular and pretty village, until now. The new owners have sorted the place out and it is finally operating to it's potential. The atmosphere is so welcoming and warm, the staff are naturally helpful and friendly, it is clean and tastefully decorated (finally!) and the food is simply wonderful. I have eaten there twice recently and am so impressed by the quality of the ingredients used, the skill of the chef and the ever-changing, inventive menu. I live in London, (i visit Harrold to see friends) and as such, have a lot of choice on my door-step of pubs and restaurants, but struggle to think of anywhere that i been recently that comes close to the Oakley Arms in terms of quality and value for money.
