| This was excellent. We were a very mixed party of 16, pre-booked on a Friday lunchtime, and were given a pleasant and large private room with access to the garden. The menu was really impressive in scope and variety and the service was courteous and efficient. The food was fresh, beautifully cooked and presented, and the drinks side was all that could be desired. The meal was a very memorable and comforting conclusion to a memorial ceremony. The remainder of the restaurant had a good number of local diners, signifying it is locally popular. Prices were extremely reasonable. At least two of the party enquired whether they offer B&B. Alas, no. But if we ever return to Sheppey, we'll hope to revisit the Flying Dutchman. The only website photo I've seen does not do justice to this pleasant place.
