| Situated in the suburb of Audenshaw, this once privately owned house dates back to 1870. Sympathetic changes have been made, including the addition of a large conservatory, but features from the original Victorian house have been retained, including old-fashioned fireplaces, tiled floors, high ceilings and beautiful stained-glass windows. From the moment you step through the doors, prepare to be seduced by the pub's classy interior. A beautiful chandelier lights up the cosy, intimate bar area, which leads to the restaurant upstairs. Peruse the main menu and specials board while sipping a beverage of choice; the bar is fully stocked with a comprehensive choice of wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks. You can expect a wide range of choice from the menu; a typical starter might include a homemade beetroot and goat's cheese tart or Scottish smoked salmon on a potato and chive cake, while the mains menu boasts an impressive selection of traditional dishes. | had a very enjoyable visit on sunday it was a carvery but the main menu was still on, i also noticed the deals there doing at the moment a diamond club offer mon to fri 2 courses for £8.95 for the over 50's and 2 main meals and a bottle of wine for £20 mon to thurs without being a memeber there members of the gourmet society to which is a great deal.. | Starters were fine. Main courses were a disaster. My main meal arrived not as ordered and the replacement was a thrown together effort that was not worth eating. My wife's meal was also not as described on the menu. We were not charged for my meal which was fine as I had no intention of paying for it.
