| We had travelled down from scotland on business andstopped off in Toddington for the night. We came across the Angel pub, and thought we might get something to eat and maybe spend a few hours there. Imagine our disappointment when the staff refused our Scottish notes, which are as legal in England as English notes are in Scotland. We were told if we went across the road to the chinese takeaway they would take our notes and we could get something to eat there, very helpful eh? On the website for the pub the owners state that they cater for travellers from far and wide, but not if you come from Scotland bearing scottish notes. I'll give this a miss in future. I stayed in Toddington many years ago when I worked in the Vauxhall parts factory, attitudes haven't changed much concerning outsiders.[Report for Removal] | Derek McKinlay Ardrossan ayrshire |
