| After meeting the new landlord of the pub and listening to the passion he has about cooking food with fresh produce we went on Sunday to sample the food and was'nt disapointed after a warm welcoming from the bar staff we enjoyed a Greek style salad with garlic bread followed by a vegetable pasta dish that had clearly been made from fresh. The young girl who served us was very attentive with a lovely smile on her face at all times. A very nice meal and will be going back the beer was good too. | Really poor food. 10 guests, all food sent "cooked" through a 3rd party then re-heated (manager confirmed this when I later spoke to him regarding bones in a CHILD'S fish dish (which we spent 5 hours in casualty on a saturday night) We were recommended the cottage pie which was just tasteless mush. the BBQ chicken was like syrup whith processed cheese ladled over it.. Baaad frozen veg. This all may sound like sour grapes and to an extent it maybe, however, my opinion is, that if you like homemade fair, Don't go!![Report for Removal] | Rik Foster Leeds West Yorkshire |

| Visited today - 3rd January 2011. The giant Yorkshire pudding was rock hard, couldn't be cut easily, the beef casserole was poor, Luke warm and cold in places. The fish was tiny and chips tasted like they were hours old. Being served by a woman with a bandana and then a baseball hat on was not appreciated. The service behind the bar was as bad by same who totally forgot what I wanted - a pint and an orange juice- as was interrupted by someone from the kitchen. Very rude. It was cold outside and no fires were lit, there was none of that atmosphere that there used to be years ago. I won't ever go there again and wouldn't recommend anyone to. It may be under new management, but it's gone downhill beyond anything I have ever seen.[Report for Removal] | Kev Leeds West yorks |

| We visited The Crooked Billet for Sunday lunch on Mothers Day after making a booking at 3pm for 7 people. On making the booking we first checked they still served "giant" yorkshire puddings as this was the main reason for the family visit.(we were also celebrating my brothers 40th birthday) When we came to give our order to the manager at 3pm we discovered they had NO yorkshire puddings left!!! The manager thought it was quite amuzing that they had sold out and could only appologise as they had been busy. They do serve food up until 9pm so I couldnt understand how they had not cooked enough yorkshire puddings for the whole day especially as the Sunday menus were either Sunday lunch with a yorkshire pudding or Sunday lunch in a yorkshire pudding! My brother asked if he could have a steak insead but was told NO because it wasnt on the Sunday menu! I expressed my dissapointment to the manager who was also the same lady who came to take our order and she wasnt prepared to do anything to solve the situation except applolgise which on this occasion I felt was not enough! We decided to leave the pub and head for the Toby Grove which always serves excellent food and never runs out of yorksire puddings! I will NOT return to The Crooked Billet again and feel the Manager would benefit from some customer service training! Their Loss! [Report for Removal] | Mrs Thompson Leeds West Yorkshire |

| The food here is great! Being vegetarian, there tends to be few options when I go out anywhere for a meal. There were 3 options, which were all very nice so even though there still isn't much choice, I would definitely go back for the ones they do have. The food is always hot enough and with large enough portions. The chips in particular were delicious!! Service was good, we weren't left waiting too long and the staff are always polite.[Report for Removal] | Emma Jenkinson Leeds West Yorkshire |

| The food at this pub is great, and the previous comments made should be ignored in my opinion. I have eated on a Sunday and on a weekday and both times the foo was freshly cooked and piping hot on service. both these meals occured in Summer 2008.Vegetables were also provided in copious amounts (too much to eat). The fish and chips are a must have!. service is good also with young but polite staff, the young ladd that served us was brilliant. In my time i have eaten out on a regular occasion so witnessed some awfull food, the food at this pub is with the BEST ive ever tasted. The pub itself is also in a great location and a visit to the small church is a must after the meal. Facilities are average with decor needing in my opinion a little modernising but this is my opinion only. Great Home cooking keep up the good work, i no iam coming again Andrew , Birstall West Yorkshire [Report for Removal] | Andrew Green Birstall West Yorks |

| We went for Sunday lunch at 5 pm on Sunday 6th May 2007. The service was abysmal - slow and we were given confusing advice on what we could order - which eventually turned out to be ONLY the Sunday menu with very limited choices. We ordered a roast dinner, which was slow to arrive, but this was not a complete disaster. What was upsetting was the dinner when it did arrive - stone cold, the meat was so tough, it would frighten the SAS, and the vegetables were also cold and of very small quantity. We didn't stay to sample any desserts, left most of the food, and complained when we went to pay. We were charged for one meal only, because we were dissatisfied, but quite frankly, it was not enough - the food was disgusting. We will not be using the pub for food again, and we only live locally. Please think twice before visiting this pub for eating purposes.[Report for Removal] | Peter Henderson Gulliver Tadcaster North Yorkshire |

| This pub is about 10 years behind the times - just not good enough. No attention to detail even the cutlery was not clean enough.[Report for Removal] | Jeffrey Monk Fryston North Yorkshire |
