| Don't go the worst dining experience I have ever had.we wanted a pub half way between scunthorpe and Louth my my wife and I to meet her sister and partner. Here is what happened. 1,Pub was cold and real fire had gone out. 2,Only could get wine over bar in little bottles not a large glass.3,it was only o'clock on a sat night with two other tables occupied but ran out of fillet steak.4,ran out of gammon4,waitress did not know what came with what on the menu.5,my wifesediaaions of beef was just in one lump.6,the jamacan curry was like roast chicken with a tastless sauce chucked over.7,my wife sent beef mediallions back and ordered the curry.8, it came with chips as they had ran out of rice.9,then to top it off they said sorry please wait 10 minutes and brought her a crappy homemade birthday bun and 4 spoons. 10,it tasted awfull and it wasn't even her birthday!!!!!11,they did not charge for her meal but did for everything else. | We just happened to be driving past on a journey from Whitby to Peterborough (strange route!), saw the sign, and pulled in. What a wonderfully eccentric place! The Jamaican food was unexpected , and very tasty, and went well with the Bombadier ale. Too much time was then wasted looking at all the Dambuster and WW2 mementoes in the warren or rooms. Our pitstop was then topped off by the Red Arrows flying over, in formation, trailing red white and blue smoke.[Report for Removal] | Helen Beck Manchester Lancs |

| Took a special trip out to see this unique pub. Memorobilia interesting but it didnt make up for the general feeling of the whole place needing a good clean and overhaul. Dont bother with the food the meals we had were disgusting - we couldnt eat the "beef hotpot" which was just leftover beef slices (couldnt even cut!) and vegetables from the Sunday lunch thrown together with horrible salty ready made gravy. The poor waitress didnt know what to do and the Landlady just couldnt have cared less - no apology, didnt even come to ask what was wrong - its a pity we had already paid for it! Another diner had a hair in her dinner but was just asked if she wanted anything else! Its a shame - this place could be a little gem - dont go at present, wait while the present owners leave which probably wont be long.[Report for Removal] | Mrs Pitcher Scunthorpe Lincolnshire |
