| This place is stuck in an 80s time warp with an cheap, tacky and dated decor, an uninspiring menu and terrible customer service. The food is reasonable with fair sized portions. It was let down by overcooked veg and the meat in the steak and ale pie was very dry and needed a few gulps of a drink to help it down. The main problem is terrible customer service. They doubled the price of a meal for a child as we had asked for chips and peas with it (as clearly stated on the menu as included) and when questioned about it their response was “What do you expect me to do about it?”. After lengthy discussions with an extremely unhelpful waitress we managed to have the items removed from the bill. No apology though. When paying at the bar the landlady was equally rude and implied the mistake was on our part. When pointing out that their menu was incorrect and it was unacceptable to charge £8.50 for a meal for a 3 year old she seemed not to care and offered no apology. The rude waitress then thought it appropriate to continue challenging us at the bar in front of other customers. I really don’t think I have experienced such appalling service in any restaurant in the past.
