We come to the crwon every year to stay and to eat, after recently reading the reviews on a website apparantly called "Trip advisor" about the crown my husband and I decided to take an early trip this year to find out was was going on, we found that what was said was a complete load of rubbish. All the Staff were great as usual, and the room we had was clean and tidy the carpet was dirt free and not thread bare. We ate both Friday and Saturday Night and ate something diffent each Night but it was delicious and Homemade, The carvery we had on the sunday before leaving i cannot fault it was superb!! Fresh Meat, Fresh Vegetables and a CLEAN Carvery!! I would advise people not to read and take in the nonsense that is written on trip advisor!!!! We Love it- Its great priced and fun to be there!!!![Report for Removal] Ele

Seeing the "All Day Sunday Carvery" advertised on a rainy February morning lit both my own, and my family's eyes up! Not expecting anything special we were all amazed by the warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff welcomed us like their own, and we quickly sat down to what was one of the finest Carverys (and I've eaten many in my time) I've ever had. The colourful veg was perfectly cooked and complimented the highly succulent meat. My only criticism of the meal would be that they needed to extend their dessert menu, but seeing as we had all filled our bellies anyway I would hardly call this a complaint! Even my mother in Law (hard to please is a gross understatement) was happy with the good value, fantastic tasting food on offer. While it is true that the toilets are in a very slight need of repair, I was told by the wondergul Peter that these were in a state of refurbishment. One could hardly call the rest of the pub "Dirty". It's well kept charming decor was a wonderful place to sit, relax and make new friends. Having read the other reviews on this site, I can only assume that the Crown (or the other bedroom critic) suffered an off day, which we are all prone to every now and then. I shall soon be returning. Thank you for a superb time![Report for Removal] Matt Tracker

I went into the crown on a sunday afternoon as it stated that they do a sunday carvey, I was completly discusted by the state of the place, It was dirty It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years, the celing was falling down, The tolet floors were mouldy with spiderwebs everywhere and It smelt damp. As for the food, It wasn't up to much, I was charged about £9 which I thought was terrible considering the food wasn't good, all the vegetables had been sitting under the heat lamps with no covers on so they had dried up and were unedable they also left the metal ladles in the vegetable pots so I burned my hands when I picked them up. I was very very dissapointed and will not be returing.[Report for Removal] Adele Smith
