| The Coaching Inn,changed its name to the Maynard Arms in the early 1900's,then in the 1990's it was changed to the 'Coaching Inn' again, then back to the Maynard Arms. During the early 1900's it was called the Maynard Arms Hotel, being used primarily by Railway Users, and the Horse Drawn Coaches. The Maynard Arms caught fire in Nov 2008,and whilst it is not gutted inside,it remains boarded up! The Maynard Arms is the only 'public building' amongst hundereds of houses,it was a good pub, with a childrend Play Room called P.J's at the rear of the pub, with nice gardens around the rear. It looks like Bagworth may 'loose' the Maynard to Developers,as 'local builders' David .... ,have expressed their intention to knock down this lovely old 'Coaching Inn' - The Maynard Arms, and build houses on the site. This will be even more houses, for a village with NO Infrastructure at all! [Report for Removal] | Terry Gogerty Bagworth, Leicestershire, |
