| Our previous experiences had been good for simple pub grub and good beer - excellent value. On arrival two beers were off. Were handed beautifully printed menus as opposed to the previous blackboard menu. On looking the pub grub idea had gone but the menu was very limited (no white meat)and also a number of items not available as pointed out by the waitress. (She indicated as they were new they did not know they had to give butcher 24 hours notice for rack of lamb!) Food average and over priced. The staff although pleasant enough seemed to be out of depth. Starters were ok. We ordered two steaks (one medium and one rare), when asking which one was which serving waiter/barman did not know and had to check. Accompaniments very limited, whilst we saw dishes of veg served to other folks in restaurant they was not offered to us and meal felt incomplete. When bill came we noticed some drinks had not been charged for. We did right thing and pointed out as we do not believe in capitalising on weakness of others! All in all we felt at £45 that we had had better nights there in the past for £10 to £15 less!
