| I wouldn't recommend the Punch Bowl at Barrows Green to anyone after the utterly sub-standard meal and drinks we had there on the 5th September 2010. Although the service was good and the staff seemed eager, the quality of meal they produced and the quality of drinks majorly let them down. They took utterly fantastic local produce and cooked it badly, presented it badly and added no flavour whatsoever, not even seasoning. Plus the menu is utterly misleading and doesn't accurately reflect what you are ordering and paying for. They don't take debit/credit cards. The local beer was not available. They only had one type of white wine by the bottle, which was cheap, yellowy, oaky tasting, what I presume to be chardonnay. On sending back the food as utterly inadequate, you would think a brand new pub manager would bend over backward to win over his new customers, but no. To his credit he did offer us 2 complimentary desserts, which we didnt want. He would then only refund one of our meals (the one which wasn't what it said on the menu). The other although we thought was utterly unsatisfactory, and we didn't eat, he wouldn't refund. We were really saddened by this as we've been regular drinkers and diners there for a long time.
