| Usually I can be pretty easy going when it comes to making a review.Either something is ok or not ok.In the case of this dive I would say this place is ATROCIOUS. I went in to get a pint and have a meal with my family.The barlady (a woman in her 50's or 60's)initally ignored us for around 5 minutes, deciding that washing ashtrays was more important than serving anyone at the bar.Then in the most condescending tone imaginable asked us "what do you want".After ordering a pint of grog, sorry bitter, my partner got some cigarettes out.The barlady snapped and shouted (sic) "ya can't smoke in here alright", which my partner knew already.After another 5 minutes of condescending and totally rotten service we decided not to stay here and went up the street to the Red Lion which was a great pub to go to, good customer service and not frumpy old grandmas with attitude problems.I will never go to this pub again and wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. However if you like patronizing non-existant service, sour bitter and all in the surroundings of a pub that wouldn't look out of place as a Stalinist torture chamber, come to the Dalesman.[Report for Removal] | William Towers Kendal Cumbria |
