| I visited this restraurant on sat 21st Aug 2010 with my husband & 3 children 2age 12yrs & one age 6yrs we sat outside as we had our dog with us, on first approach the staff appeared busy but friendly, however on ordering drinks inside the tone was abrupt,so ordered our drinks & food and ask about smaller portions for the 6yr old, at no point was I offered a kids menu, so I ordered her 3 x side dishes, the first meals brought to the table weren't ours she breezed awy without saying a word, then slapped ours down without a word,my wee girls garlic bread was burnt! but we didnt complain as they looked stressed we just gave it to the dogs, however on ordering dessert, I asked about a half portion & was told I could have a half portion but it would be same price?? so I said why dont you do a kids portion? & was told they did a kids menu but a complete kids meal had to be purchased, when I asked why I wasnt given a kids menu he said, you didnt ask!!, when our desserts came out all of them had black hairs visible to anyone , especially the waitress, who huffed when I pointed it out, we informed the waiter who brought out the coffee, but he did nothing so all 4 desserts to the total of £17.55 were left on the table, no service at this restuarant worth returning for, cannot believe the arrogance of the staff, who spent more time gathering at a table chatting than serving, we had to ask for our plates to be taken after our meal as the wasps were unbearable and the plates lay there 15mins after we finished, also twice had to ask for cutlery, all in all definetly the worst restuarant & service we have ever encountered!!![Report for Removal] | Louise Hall Falkirk Stirlingshire |

| Visited twice now and enjoyed both meals. First time was family party for mum and we could not get table in restuarant but the bar was quite good for the meal with friendly atmosphere. Both times food was tasty and good value. My wife had calamari and loved the squid. I had an incredibly sweet toffee pudding both times! Will visit tomorrow night again. Enuff said... | Just had another fantastic meal at the Red Lion. Just can't keep away. Wouldn't keep going back if the food, service, staff and price weren't brilliant now would I. [Report for Removal] | Lesley McCormack Dunfermline Fife |

| I have been going to the Red Lion for a number of years now and I have to say that everything about this little pub is fantastic. It may be a small pub but they offer the most fabulous tasting dishes that are not expensive either. The staff are very friendly and food is quick to come once ordered. I read from a previous review that cuttlery was laid at the end of the table and not placed at each indiciduals placemat. Well is it any great hard ship to lift your cutlery yourself. I actually think that it is best being left on a plate at the end of the table as this way it has been touched less. Any way more about this great wee pub and the lovely landlady Anne. For a great Saturday night out and not to avoid dissapointment book a table at the Red Lion. The bill along with the great food will have your rushing to book for another time. I recently had a big birthday meal there and we all had a fantastic night. The Red Lion has got to serve the best food around. If booking check the specials board. Always something new on it. I rate the Red Lion as top notch excellent. Get booking. [Report for Removal] | Lesley McCormack Dunfermline Fife |

| We booked a table for 10 at 6:30pm on 12 September 2009 at The Red Lion, Culross, Fife. When we arrived we were given 2 tables, 1 for 6 the other for 4. When we enquired about 1 table for 10 we were told that none was available. At approximately 8:30 we were asked to leave the table for 6 as they had another booking for that table. When we made the booking we were not told that we could not have 1 table for 10 and that we had to vacate 1 of the tables by 8:30. As for the rest of the short evening: a. Cutlery for the first course was put at the end of the table, not placed at the place mats. b. No cutlery was provided for the second course, we had to get it ourselves. c. No aprons were provided for the “sizzling steaks” as stated on the menu. d. Quite a bit of the meals had obviously been done in a microwave. We had all been there before and, whilst we had experienced a and c above, the others had been quite happy with the restaurant. A restaurant that once had a good reputation that is now resting on its laurels and will lose customers very quickly if this attitude remains. Needless to say none of our party will be visiting again. [Report for Removal] | James White Limekilns Fife |

| I have enjoyed many meals at The Red Lion in the past, and go about once a month. The staff are usually friendly, however one boy named Connor provided us with immaculate service and handled the situation of my husbands illness effectively. I will most definately be back. The food is always delicious. I would however recommend a bit more organisation. Staff don't seem to be assigned tables, and we're usually asked about three times whether we'd like to order drinks. | Having visited this inn in the past and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and service, I was shocked when i took my mother(86) and daughter there for a meal(11th Sept 2007).Space here doesn't allow me to give a full account of what happened, but in short , we were virtually accused of sitting at a reserved table with the knowledge that it was reserved. We were left feeling so uncomfortable as other diners could hear what was being said, in fact, i ended up in tears. The owners , who were made aware of the situation(purely because i asked for the bill for what we had, and flatly refused to pay for what we didn't have) didn't even bother to approach us. In short, i will never return , neither will my friends and anyone else whom i've told. I have never experienced anything like it and hope i never will again.I will add that at no point were the staff rude, with the exception of their attitude.[Report for Removal] | Marian Hopkins Alloa Clackmannanshire |
