| Went to the Douglas Haig for the first time for a meal last night, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The service was very good and friendly. There seemed to be a lot of things in the pipeline from the new management (their first mini beer festival comes to mind). | Now under new management the pub, restaurant and hotel are going from strength to strength. The restaurant menu is all new and very well cooked and presented. The bar is well stocked with reasonably priced real ales and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The hotel rooms are very comfortable, well appointed and represent good value for money. They have both Sky and Setanta so there is always sport available to watch in the bar but it is far enough away from the restaurant not to disturb diners.
