| Soon after coming under new management a couple of months ago,we went along to see what changes had been made, mainly hoping that it would be a little more welcoming.We had an enjoyable couple of hours there and the place seemed to be alive at last.Decided to make a return visit last night (the Sunday of a bank holiday weekend)and, on arrival where pleased to see the place lively and atmospheric.However, we were in for a surprise when we got to the bar. The rather elderly barman told us that he'd decided to call time at ten o'clck(it was a minute past ten when we walked in!)as he'd 'Been at it all day.' He then simply turned his back on us and walked away.Strange way to run a pub-close early because it's busy!!?This is a great shame as, after our last visit we thought this pub (our local)had at last turned around.Needless to say,we won't be returning and will warn others in the area that their custom is not wanted!Under the old management, you may not have got the warmest welcome but at least you got a drink! | What a brilliant pub this has now become! The new refurbishment is stunning and my partner and I can see this pub becoming the hub of Addlestone. It has great potential and I look forward to trying the new menu. The new owner I believe is extremely dynamic and ambitious for the place to become a major pub in the area.
