| This is an excellent and welcoming hostelry, with a welcoming and very professional bar staff. The landlords have done a brilliant job in developing the pub into a first class establishment with its integrated restaurant. My wife and I go regularly because we enjoy the atmosphere. The accompanying gardens are a delight in the warmer months. It is sad to read in the local paper, therefore, that the landlord's 'reward' for developing the place in such a positive way, is that the local rating Valuation Officer has increased the rates charged by 70%, endangering the very existence of the business.
