| LOVE this pub! The ONLY local place for live music! I've lived in chesham for years and was getting sick of the same old thing every weekend - DJs playing rubbish dance music, junkies dealing under the table and chavs fighting, but two years ago the Cock Tavern came under new management and now it's a real haven for any music lovers! Every Wednesday they have open mic night which gets anyone involved who wants to be - from age 18 to 118 it's a great atmosphere full of singers and musicians. Friday night is the big one though, sometimes it's open mic night and other times they have up and coming local bands! Drinks are reasonably priced and the staff are fantastic and friendly! They have a back garden too which is better for the summer obviously but part of it is under cover so smokers like myself don't get too rained on! It's quiet during the day times, but all the locals are welcoming and friendly with a bit of banter here and there. They also have a poker night, (I think it's Thursday night) which is good fun!
