| Went for lunch Sunday 24 March, nicely surprised. Friendly and efficient pub, very dog friendly with dog treats at the bar. Food of above average standard and not the usual 'Sunday lunch' menu, I had Artichoke and Pine nuts risotto and my husband had Fish and Chips. Both delicious and well cooked. We ate in the garden and it was a warm sunny day, so easy with the dog. Would definitely go again. Good Ale also my husband tells me.[Report for Removal] | Kathy P. Northaw Herts. |

| we went to The Valiant Trooper recently with some friends of ours and really enjoyed it. The olde-worldy bar if full of wooden beams and a couple of open fires. The staff were really friendly and managed to explain to one of our party the differences between the large selection of real ales on offer. We decided to eat as we were tempted by the specials on offer and we tried squirrel casserole and rabbit pie - both were delicious. The pub is a bit out of the way, and wasn't very busy when we were there, but it's well worth a visit.[Report for Removal] | Samantha Davis Berkhamsted Herts |
