| This pub has a good atmosphere and helpful staff, but at all costs (all £10.25 of them for one course!)avoid the Sunday lunch! It was a sorry affair, thinly sliced tasteless meat atop some rather pale 'roast' potatoes, the whole lot swamped with a insipid gravy. The roast pork had no crackling, or stuffing and the apple sauce for 2 was a mean eggcupful of ready-made sticky pulp from a jar. AA Recommended suggests meals prepared with 'care, understanding, and skill', none of which were evident here. | ACCOMMODATION RATING (NOT THE PUB/RESTAURANT, WHICH I BELIEVE ARE VERY NICE) - Extremely disappointed with the rooms at the Greyhound. They certainly do not warrant the £75 per night fee. Their website states that they have rooms in the main building and also in the "newer building" at the rear. We stayed in one of the rooms in the "newer building" and can honestly say that there is nothing new about it at all. It can almost be classed as a renovated out building, and our room was reached by nothing more than a metal fire escape - not ideal when we had our 18 month old daughter with us. The room itself was small, and the bathroom was even smaller - you had to stand to the side of the toilet to either open or close the door. You stepped straight out of the shower cubicle (which barely worked) into the loo and couldn't even think about getting dry or dressed because there was no room. I'm not sure if this room hadn't been used for a while, but there was a layer of dust over each of the units and tv. We had friends staying close by for a christening that paid less than us, and their rooms were far far superior. Very disappointed! [Report for Removal] | Lisa Greenhough Stockport Cheshire |
