| Friendly interesting staff great atmosphere and the best food i have ever had. If you are looking for something a little out of your normal routine in hemel hempstead then why not check out the marchmont. As melanie said the prices may be a little higher than your average pub and to tell you the truth i often opt for the cheese melted fries that other pubs offer but sometimes its just time for something a little more special, and lets face it we all need to treat ourselves. | WHY OH WHY CHANGE A FRIENDLY, REASONABLY PRICED, MUCH LOVED RESTURANT INTO A MODERN TRENDY GASTROPUB WITH NO ATMOSPHERE AND RIDICULOUS BAR AND FOOD PRICES? TWO LARGE GLASSES OF ROSE WINE WILL SET YOU BACK £12 AND A DRY CHARGRILLED CHICKEN OPEN SANDWITCH £8.75! I HAD EAGERLY AWAITED THE RE OPENING OF THIS, (FORMERLY) ONE OF MY FAVORITE PLACES TO EAT BUT AM BITTERLY DISSAPOINTED. | My husband and I were invited to a pre opening meal which was excellent, thank you Wayne we look forward to many more of your excellent dishes. The refurbishment of The Marchmont is very tastfully done, the colours and decor as well as the furniture and lighting is very comfortable and inviting. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome, the bar staff, fantastic as ever. Big thank you to Scott and all his staff.
