| We visited The Staveley Arms on October 5th. The owners and staff could not have made us feel more welcome. The food was fantastic - real good value for money and fantastic quality. | Having stayed in the old coach house, North Stainley this summer we were delighted to find the Staveley Arms adjacent, we visited there 4 out of our 5 night stay and received a very warm welcome from hosts Sharon and Andy. Food was first class and we could not have been made to feel more welcome by both them and the very friendly locals. We have recommended the pub to our friends and wouldnt hesitate to return. Keep up the good work!!! (The previous negative comments posted on this site is hard to believe as the service, food and welcoming reception was second to none!) | a very poor experience overall. Beautiful looking pub and in a very nice setting. Sadly downhill from there. Landlady was flustered even though the pub was virtually empty. Food took ages to order and even longer for most of it to arrive. When I queried where my meal was, I was accused of eating two meals which I hadn't ordered. The landlady was rude and quite offensive even after I went through the order with her to show what we had and hadn't received. The food was quite disappointing and my steak pie was quite obviously left over meat which had been cut up and put in a very synthetic gloopy gravy. | Went for lunch and had the worst meal ever !!! Soup was liquidised vegetables, no taste and even a generous sprinkling of pepper couldn't make it edible. Main course was worse if possible. The Fish pie was sadly lacking in fish and the mash woefully underseasoned again. Surprise surprise the vegetables in the soup made a reappearance and were so over cooked they were positively limp.
