| Since the last review there has been a much-needed change of ownership and management at the Black Horse. Now a Free House, the business has been put firmly back on it's feet, and once again the Black Horse is a welcoming and delightful place to eat and drink. A high quality range of real ales is on offer in the bar, including Flowerpots Bitter and Dark Star Hophead. The locals are cheerful and friendly, children and dogs are made welcome. The kitchen and restaurant have been overturned, with up and coming young chef Sam Baker at the helm. Rapidly gaining recognition as 'one to watch', Sam's food is both innovative and exciting, with a positive 'WOW' factor. Prices for this level of offering are competative and reasonable. All in all, The Black Horse is once again a must visit pub. Well done. [Report for Removal] | A. Waters Petworth West Sussex |

| 6/7/07. Ordered nachos to start. Arrived burnt on top and not cooked underneath. Then 3 fillet steak and chips. Steak was very poor filletand the chips were not cooked properly. Complained and offered to replace one meal. Eventually returned with meal, after other members of the group had finished their meals, steak still poor, chips still not cooked. Complained again - offered £8.00 reduction off the whole bill!! Only two other people eating who were actually having cold salad!. Definitely not recommended. Obviously changed hands.[Report for Removal] | Dianne Guard Worthing West Sussex |
