| Have been to this pub to eat a number of times and have always enjoyed the experience. Food has always been of a good standard and staff generally friendly and attentive, especially when we have been there with my wheelchair bound grandmother. Ales have always been good, if not slightly over priced. Would certainly recommend the place to friends. [Report for Removal] | Jamie Dickinson Gatley, Stockport Cheshire |

| Having stumbled across this website whilst looking for the phone number to book a table, I felt I should add my comments......My husband and I ate here in April 09 and I can quite honestly say it was the best food I have had out since we moved to Fleet nearly 3 years ago. The service was excellent - attentive but not fussy. The restaurant itself is done up very nicely - modern but rustic. All in all.....fantastic.[Report for Removal] | Impressed Fleet Hampshire |

| OK so in the spirit of fairness I'd like to revise my earlier 2006 review. We went to the Forresters last night with some friends who had booked a table. The service was very friendly, perhaps a tad slow, but it was a Friday night. Food was great. Sea-bass was good, my sausage and mash was proper good sausages, and real mash, and the fish and chips were good too. Lemon pudding was very tasty. I have also cycled to it, and while you can no longer access the beer garden from the rear gap in the hedge, you have to come via the road, it was very nice to park the bikes and have a pint in the garden at the back. I would think that the management has changed considerably for the better since 2006.[Report for Removal] | Jonathan Fleet Hampshire |

| I agree, a pub is no place for children anyway, and not everyone wants screaming children running around the place, annoying everyone, while they're parents do nothing about it! Sorry parents but we don't want kids in pubs take them to the park.[Report for Removal] | nancy widmore preston lancs |

| Having heard that the Foresters were now under new management we thought we would give it a try for my husbands birthday. When we arrived the resturant was full and we received a warm welcome! Having chosen to have a drink at the bar we were then shown to our table to make our choice from the very tempting menu, including a varied vegitarian option. When the food arrived we were NOT dissapointed! It was superb, followed by the best banoffee pie I have tasted!! The service we received was friendly attentive and we would not hesitate in going back. Well done!! [Report for Removal] | Mrs Lyn Masters Fleet Hampshire |

| This is our 4th visit. For my Husband's birthday, I booked a table for 7 people for Sunday Lunch at 1.00pm. My parents, my Husband's Mother, Sister and Husband. We arrived early, had drinks and then were taken to our table. We were one of the 1st to be seated. We ordered our meals and waited an hour to get the food. More people had arrived, and they were getting their food before us. They said that because we didn't all order the Roast lamb and that some of us had ordered from the speacials board that was why it was taking longer. It would be with us in 3 mins. We waited another 30 mins. When the food arrived, it was very nice, but the wait spoilt it. It would have been nice when ordering to be told that there would be a wait for our food. We left at 3.00pm and didn't bother with the sweet or coffee. The last time we came, we waited some time for the food, but thought we would give another go as the food is very nice. We will give the Forresters a miss now. It spoilt my Husband's birthday.[Report for Removal] | Mrs Lowe Basingstoke Hampshire |

| This was our 2nd outing to The Foresters Inn and i felt the need to write a review. Four adults attended for a meal on a Friday evening and we had a fantastic time. The food was out of this world and the settings and service was excellent too. If you are looking for good food and wine with comfortable surroundings and first class service, this is the place for you. It's a must for all. 10/10[Report for Removal] | Lisa Farnborough Hants |

| My wife and I and two friends had Sunday lunch at this pub and found it to be a very pleasant experience. It was busy, but not crowded. The waiting staff were helpful, friendly and discretly attentative, ensuring drinks were always available and orders taken promptly. They even changed the type of vegetables as my wife wanted something different to the menu. The food portions were substantial and well cooked, I had to take some of my steakburger home in a doggy-bag! During this time I noticed people were outside and they were getting drinks (and food?) served to them with no apparant fuss. All in all a very nice lunch in a friendly atmosphere. We will be going again when the in-laws visit.[Report for Removal] | Dr Stephen Mortlock Bagshot Surrey |

| Went to The Foresters Inn on Weds 30/07/08. Ordered food for 4 people. Having waited for a time a waiter came to tell me that one item was no longer available. I ordered something else but wondered why I hadn't been told when I ordered. Two dishes came and we waited, eventually our partners ate as we didn't want the food to go cold. The other items never came so we gave up and paid for what we had. No apology, no interest, no management, not enough staff. Sadly the food is good! We waited a LONG time! Keep this up and eventually everyone in the area will know bad the service is. There are lots of GOOD pubs in the area. DON'T BOTHER GOING THERE! [Report for Removal] | Andrew H Fleet Hants |

| So nearly there, but not quite. Went on a Saturday night and can't help feeling there were some staffing issues (most important of which seemed to be the absence of anyone managing the team - the Landlord sat at the bar with a pint and occasionally shuffled across to apologise to punters when things went wrong but no pro-active attempts to get things back on track.) Great location, good menu, strong wine list. Manage the staff well and you'll make a killing! One last chance from us - if you get it right we'll keep coming back. If you don't it's too expensive to take a risk.[Report for Removal] | Chris T Fleet Hampshire |

| We discovered The Foresters because it is a lttle out of the way and we prefer country pubs to town pubs - we liked it instantly because it was completely non-smoking before the law came in, in July. We find Steve and Glynis delightful - also, good beer and excellent wine , although the Chablis is rather expensive, so we haven't sampled that yet! (Hint hint) Their food is always to a very high standard, and such generous helpings we can never manage a starter and a main course. In fact, we value it so highly that we chose to have our very small wedding reception there in May, and we were thrilled at the care and thoughtfulness put into the whole day. And to put the icing on the cake, we have chosen to go there on Christmas Day this year. Surely adults should have the choice to be able to have a pleasant, relaxing evening in a well run pub with no screamimg kids running up and down with their larey parents yelling at them for the whole of their visit? There are plenty "family" pubs for people like that! 10 out of 10![Report for Removal] | Cherry Hutchins Fleet Hants |

| Many of the negative reviews here can actually be traced back to the fact that The Foresters is actually a very nice restaurant with a bar area. The food is excellent and everyone I have taken there (and that's a lot over the years) has raved about the food. I have to say I've never found Steve (the owner) anything other than friendly and polite. Yeah, if you have a dog or kids running round you might have to sit in the lovely garden but isn't that just polite on your part respecting the peace and quite others want during their meals? Give The Foresters a try. Take your partner, leave the kids at home with the babysitter and give the dog a bone. Great food at a good price. Oh - best chips ever. Seriously.[Report for Removal] | Richard Farnborough Hampshire |

| Everything was excellent as usuall. The food is always to the highest of standards, which is always served with a smile for the great staff that work there. But the "land lady" is from hell. She is rude and abrupt. I have heard her talk to the staff and it is disgraceful you would think she would have a different attiude to the customers which pay her wages. WRONG . If she does not agree with a suggestion for a customer as i did once she tells you her life story and every reason under the sun. It would have been nice if she just said thanks i will keep that in mind. Keep up the good work there to all the staff espically the chefs who create all the great food. | I have been to the foresters, and it isn't advertised as a child friendly pub, ( thank god ) and there is a sign explaining about the pushchairs! many of us enjoy a meal without kids running around or screaming! I have only had one occasion when my meal wasn't quite right and when I mentioned it to a waitress it was changed with an apology. As long as my dog is on a lead in the garden,( which any responsible dog owner would do) the staff don't have a problem with that. I would recommend the pub, for a peaceful, child free place especially in the evening as the candle lit enviroment is very pleasant.[Report for Removal] | louise winter farnham surrey |

| AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! I am the mother of the 1 yr old mentioned in the below review, and just feel that I have to add my comments. I was so annoyed at the way that this excuse for a pub treated us! We went there as my sister-in-law had been before and said it was ok, and only a short walk from her home. To be told that pushchairs weren't allowed in the restaurant would have been acceptable if a highchair was offered instead! Also, when I asked why, the young girl said "that's just the rules, sorry!" (maybe some signs to this effect would have warned us?!) Riled, I agreed to sit in the garden with the rest of the family. Like my mother-in-law states, we were then totally ignored by the bunch of school girls they used as waitresses. I am glad we then decided to leave, and go to 'Alfresco', which was a fab Italian just up the road, who welcomed us and provided a gorgeous meal and wine- something which I wholly doubt we'd have had at the Foresters. But hey- if they can afford to lose custom like this then good luck to them! I will never go back, and would never recommend it!! [Report for Removal] | Jemma Springett Great Dunmow Essex |

| My Daughter and her Boyfriend have just moved to Church Crookham and we travelled down to visit them today from Bishops Stortford. We decided to try the local public house/restaurant and called at the Forresters. We had a one year old child in a pushchair and asked if we could sit inside, in a corner with the pushchair placed in the corner out of the way. We were then advised that pushchairs were not allowed in the restaurant due to Health & Safety and so we asked for a highchair, to be told that the Restaurant did not supply them and that we would have to eat outside (good job it was not raining). We took a table outside and sat waiting to be served but were completely ignored. We left and went to the local Italian Restaurant where we were welcomed and supplied with a highchair. I wonder how the Forresters would deal with a wheelchair !!! We were advised by the locals that the Forresters was not an animal or child friendly place, now we know its true. We certainly would not go there again.[Report for Removal] | Mrs L Roper Bishops Stortford Herts |

| I have lived in the area for 9 years and had always used this Pub. I know its had its ups and downsBUT we knew we could always go on a walk and end up at the Forresters with the dog. When we heard the Pub was being taken over we were pleased and hoped for some improvement in the food which there was. But it is now dog unfriendly! I liked it when everyone was welcome , all ages, cyclists, dog walkers, walkers, parents and children. Now what stands is a pub that has no place here its a simple as that, it hasn't worked! It would be ok in Fleet town centre! Now we don't go to the Pub and have been seriously thinking of moving as we don't have a local anymore plus many more reasons beside![Report for Removal] | Linda Fleet Hampshire |

| I have visited this pub 3 times in the last 12 months and regretted it on each occasion: 1) October 2005. It was a sunny October lunchtime and I cycled with my kids to the pub. We sat in the garden and I went it to order some sandwiches. I was told that we couldn't have food outside as staff "may slip while taking it out". I pointed out that we were 4 muddy and sweaty cyclists and it was in their interest we stay outside. I also offered to collect the food from the bar, if they signalled when it was ready. They did bring the food out, then the manageress came out and berated me for forcing her staff to risk life & limb by actually carrying food outside. 2) may 2006. I sing in a choir and after a concert it was decided to get a last drink on a saturday night. The Forresters was on the way back from the Church in Aldershot and was decided as where everyone would go. A friend and I were a bit late as we had helped dismantle the staging. we got to the pub at 10:30 and they would NOT serve my friend and I. I'm a bit rusty on opening hours but they would not even give us a glass of water ! 3) August 2006. Choir go for end of summer meal at the pub. Food was very poor. Mostly microwaved dinners style. good food would be the only reason to visit this pub , as it's a bit remote. however it doesn't do that well[Report for Removal] | Jonathan Fleet Hampshire |

| Gone are the days when I could be having a nice steak and chips and a bottle of Chablis in a nice warm pub while the children shiver outside with a packet of crisps and a bottle of pop like we used to. It's this bloody Children's Charter, it creeps into everything. Its insidious, these working mothers feel compelled to ensure their little darlings are having a splendid - and stimulating - time, whatever inconvenience it is to the poor adults. I shall certainly visit this pub![Report for Removal] | David Allsop Hook Hampshire |

| A very healthy attitude to children - ban them. It's pleasant to find a pub that actively discourages them. We need more pubs that are adult only, its annoying to go for a relaxing meal only to have children running riot and there parents having nothing to do with them. Good luck to the Foresters.[Report for Removal] | H. Danes fleet Hampshire |

| I had been to the Foresters a number of times before it changed hands earlier this year (2005) and had always enjoyed going back there. Unfortunatly, as with the previous reviewer, I have a had only bad experiences there since the recent change of management. I went there with family on both occasions, the first was with my son who at the time was in a pushchair. We were initially told that we were not welocme because we had him, despite the resturant being empty as it was midweek and lunchtime. Instead we were put by the kitchens where there was no room and constant knocking from staff entereing the kitchens. Furthermore the food was obviously done by someone who simply could not cook. Over done vegetable are the norm here at the Foresters which for me is the very crux of a good meal. Second time was with the whole family where the children were told they could not kick around their tennis ball in the empty garden, 'because it is bad for the grass.' Both visits left me feeling i had parted with money that simply was not appreciated, nor did I get any satisfaction what so ever as a paying customer. These are my reasons for leaving such a damning review. I hope this is taken into consideration and you have a better experience than I did.[Report for Removal] | J Segrove Fleet Hampshire |

| This is the most inhospital pub/resturant I have ever known. mainly due to the landlord and his predudism to anything outside the 'norm'. On 2 seperate visits the 2nd only due to rumours of it being under new management, we have been rudely spoken too and treated like 2nd rate citizen. I would strongly urge everyone to avoid this place until new management or an official public apology is issued.[Report for Removal] | KEITH Fleet Hampshire |
