| Having seen a number of poor reviews (albeit dated a year or two ago), we nearly didn't go there to eat, but wanted to have a look at the Folk Club that meets there each Thursday, so "risked" it. It was a quiet night and we were strangers, but we were welcomed pleasantly. There was a good range of food on the menu, at reasonable prices. It wasn't "haute cuisine", but good, well cooked, wholesome food, which we enjoyed. 2 meals (one of which sirloin steak, properly cooked to my required taste), 2 desserts, and 2 drinks came to £30.60, which we considered good value. | While travelling, dropped in for a pint and was warmly welcomed by mine hosts Rick & Rose, and of course not forgetting their Cocker Spaniiel 'Norman'.Very friendly atmosphere and was pleasantly suprised when one of the locals offered and gave me a lift to my next location and saving me taxi fare.
