We called in at The Kings Head by chance on the way back from Chedworth Roman Villa. This little pub has a unique atmosphere derived from the 97 years since the charming landlady Mrs Taylor's family took it "we'll not be long here". She herself was born in the pub and it was saved from being sold off with vacant possession by the brewery by her mother refusing to leave her bed. The pub began to serve food when the gangs arrived to take up the local railway line in the 1960's, but ceased in the face of more recent catering requirements. Visit and savour the atmosphere of real pubs when you were a child. Take your chidren and grandchildren that they may know what England was once like. I know of nowhere else like it- and Mrs Taylor is its jewel.[Report for Removal] Jonathan Still
