| I visited the Wheatsheaf in Northleach with my wife and two friends for an early Spring weekend and had a great time there (despite the cold wet weather). The staff were very friendly and helpful and the accommodation was fine. The food was excellent with a wide menu at decent prices for well-presented (without being over fussy) and tasty food. The staff were attentive and made us feel welcome. My wife would especially recommend the steak and the icky sticky toffee pudding. None of us was disappointed. I enjoyed a few pints of Hook Norton before, with and after my meal. They'd also got Stowford Press cider on tap. We all felt very comfortable here and would like to compliment our hosts on running a great food pub and b&b. Northleach is a lovely little village with good stone buildings, every one different, a few shops and a very large 'wool' church - well worth a look - we were made very welcome there too on Sunday morning. And it's at the centre of so many Cotswold attractions ass well as being a good centre for walking. We'd all recommend a visit to the Northleach and to the Wheatsheaf. | Having recently visited the Wheatsheaf Inn I was very surprised at the previous comment. The inn had a high quality food and a relaxed atmosphere. There was a good choice- I had the monkfish which was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, I would definitely recommend a trip. | Very poor quality food at any price, let alone the outrageous prices charged here. 9.95 for a very basic burger is excessive - Fries were from-frozen, burger itself was overcooked to the point of being burned; food came with none of the "usual" garnish you would expect - especially at these prices. Where was the tomato / lettuce / pickle / choice of relishes? I've had a better burger at a third of the price from a roadside van. My wife made to complain about her food - which was basic fish-and-chips at an outrageous 11.95 - and was treated with disdain by the waitress and manager. We paid and left; we will not be going back. Note: I've had some poor meal experiences in the past, but never felt strongly enough about it to write a review - until now.
