| Awful service on Valentine's night, our table was booked for 9pm and we had pre-booked the menu. We were at our table for 9pm however, our first course did not arrive until 9.45 and dessert arrived as the pub was closing. We had to take it home with us. | This place used to be really good until the new landlord took over. My friends and I used to meet at this pub when we met up a few times a year as we lived in diffrent areas. It was a fantastic family pub that we loved going to. But we recently went again and it is no longer this way. We both have kids aged 2 and as you know kids like to talk and play and we respected there was a 45 min! wait. While haveing our food the service was terrible and they told us to shut our kids up. One who was singing and the other waiting for his food. We decided to not even think about desert as we werent going to put anymore money into the place my daughter didnt even finish her dinner. We asked to speak to the landlord and the women said he was sitting next to you and was not happy with the noise the children where makeing. | I have to agree with Rob on all counts! We to have eaten here in the last few weeks and have had excellent service and food! Would recommend it to anyone....Great value for money to!!!!! | Thanks to Sam for passing on this web site. To the Sizzling Pub Group give us BACK OUR LOCAL PUB. You have plonked this thing in the middle of a community that has used the pub for years as a meeting place. I have lived in Tuffley all my life and we do not want a restaurant but out local. It was where I with others would call into for a pint on the way home from work, take the Mrs for a drink meet friends, take the kids etc a LOCAL PUB. It was a nice brick building now its painted white mess which looks terrible surrounded by signs and pictures, its over priced and the atmosphere is ruined. Well done to the men in charge. you have created something the locals do not want and us locals now have to go elsewhere. Give us our local back where we can meet and we will use it. The people that do use it have to travel to it. I agree with Sams comments and as for Jayne who ever she may be, you are lucky you can afford the stupid prices its outrageous. | Sorry it did not appear to have loaded was meant to appear once. I will say they should have paid us to eat not insulted us with charging!!. Lastly plates full of food not eaten would normally indicate we were not happy but we just got asked if we would like desert or anything else - NOT FUNNY. | Our local, the Pike & Musket has just been taken over by the Sizzling Pub Co and been renovated. Yes it needed a lick of paint and some new furniture, but they have destroyed the whole point of the place. This pub was an absolute hub of a community where generations of families and friends got together. Now under 18's are not allowed in unless they eat (I regularly used to meet my family there, now we can't afford to go). The place is so segregated you may as well be sat in your own lounge or dining room (everyone goes there to mingle, now you could be in the same place all night and not know who else is there). Why oh why did this company feel we needed a restaurant in the middle of a well established housing estate? (they say you can just go for a drink, as long as you don't take your family or want to meet your friends as you can't seat more than 4/5 people together) but it feels like you are stood in the middle of a restaurant. This company did not do there homework, any member of this community would tell you this won't work and on our last pop in at 8.45 on a Saturday night, about 3 couples were eating and about 7 people were sat outside because the weather was nice - it has already failed!
