| I am a regular customer at the Kings Head. I always eat on my own when i go there, and find the staff always take the time to talk to me, and are always very friendly. I live in Gloucester and even though there are major roadworks, i will still sit in all the traffic to get there and back as it is one of the best Sunday lunches around, and good value for money!! | i have recently visited the kings head for a family meal there was 7 adults 6 six children, its was a buzy sunday but the service we received from all the staff was excellent, as was the food ,even when we ask if it was possible to have our baby grandaughters bottle warm up the young lady smiled and said no problem, the kids loved the play area its was very clean and safe,and enjoyed seeing the goats and ponys. | I have been to this pub on lots of occasions, and i can't fault the service of the bar/restuarnt staff. also i have spoken to the owners of the pub many times and i have always found them to be pleasent and polite. it's a family run business and familes are always made welcome.[Report for Removal] | tonirose gloucester gloucestershire |

| i have eaten at the kings head many times it offers excellent food and great service i know this because im the chef lol and the reveiw posted about the starter and main is incorrect the items of food were ordered together and they did not specify as a starter it is not our falt customers can be so stuped i know this because i get customers order smoked bacon and mushroom soup then send it back because they dont like smoked bacon and people order a chicken poneer then send it back because they dont like cheese this tells me that most of the general public are not exactly compus mentos when it comes to dining out or ordering your own food instead of being a pretencious customer if you dont know what something means on a menu ask its quicker than ordering it then sending it back because you did not know that fruit de maire actually contains fish or maize fed chicken is yellow because of the maize not because its gone off and know he didnt get a suntan either ty love you all your great [Report for Removal] | ow great ginger one gloucester gloucestershire |

| We visited the Kings Head on Saturday 10th May for a family meal. Although we did not pre-book and it was quite a busy evening the landlady set us at an great table featuring an original well. | I visited this pub for food with friends, whilst staying in Gloucester for the Cheltenham festival. I ordered a starter and a main. However, my starter and main were brought out together, along with my friends' mains. I explained to the lady serving us, who was one of the landladys, that I did not want my starter and main together, so could she please take back the starter and give us a refund. I was immediately met with hostility. She did offer to keep my main warm while I ate my starter but I did not want a kept warm main, especially since I was having chips and they go soggy when kept warm! I did not feel I was being unreasonable as it was not my fault that they had brought out my starter and main together. The landlady's explanation for this was that she thought my starter was ordered as a main, as we did not stipulate that we wanted it as a starter. The dish was under the starter section on the menu and was a single field mushroom, an unlikely option as a main and I've never heard of having to stipulate that you want a dish that is labeled on the menu as a starter, as exactly that! She also claimed that we had caused confusion by not ordering the starter first, however our till receipt proved that the starter was the first thing we asked for. I was very polite to the lady and therefore was highly offended and appalled when she swore at me using the f word and stormed off with the starter. I have never met someone who has behaved in such an unprofessional manner with a customer before. After we had finished our mains my partner politely requested a refund for my uneaten starter from the lady in question. He again was met with hostility and the lady accused me of being mouthy and having a bad attitude- ironic when it was her who lost her temper and swore at me!
