| Pubs on arterial routes are rarely as friendly and welcoming as this gem on the A38 10 miles north of Bristol. The hosts, Kaye and Jim, have that rare talent of making you feel like a "regular" even though you may have just walked in from the huge car park, and their welcome and good humour will come as a surprising change from others that you may visit within the vicinity. Even as a "pint and packet of crisps" client I was [and am]treated with kindness and respect; invited to become involved in the conversations already taking place at the bar and dispatched with a warm thank you "see you again".
