| Terrible service, turned up at 2 minutes past 2, and were told they were no longer serving dinner. Not very quick at serving drinks either. | We had a party of 14 and booked the woolpack, as it was recommended by a friend. This is an experience of a lifetime, if you dont mind being told how to eat your steak, you will be fine.3 of the party had steak, we waited a long time for the meals, half of them were cold, and unless you eat it well done, dont order it. On complaining very nicely about the fact that it was very well done and the person eating it wanted it medium rare, the chef became very angry, flinging his arms around and accusing this poor person of being an obnoctious person who just didnt want to pay for her meal, apart from the fact that she couldnt eat it. When everyone had finished their meal, the chef then came out with a piece of the steak, shoved it under the nose of the lady in question and told her it was medium rare and became very obusive. There were no appologies or offer of an alternative, at any stage of the evening. The owner is in india for 6 months and the chef is the stand in manager......oh dear, no wonder it wasnt very busy. 14 people will never go back or recommend this pub to anyone, in fact i would advise people to stay away and if you have booked a table, then look for an alternative. The staff told us that it would never have happened if the owner had been there and that is when the pub used to be very very busy...what a shame.The rest of the staff were very kind and even admitted to being embarrassed and having problems with this man, on a good note, I had salmon and it was lovely, so fish is ok, steak is not..
