| I FIND THE BEECH TREE TO BE GREAT FOR WALKERS, I REGULARY USE IT FOR LUNCH WHILST WALKING OUT FROM MILNGAVIE. ITS GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY & MORE THAN WELCOMING. I USUALLY JUST HAVE A SOUP & SANDWICH DEAL, BUT I HAVE HAD SOME REALLY GOOD MEALS RECENTLY. | Having walked parts of the West highland way from my home in Glasgow over many years, I am always disappointed and deflated to approach the BeechTree to findthe same old undercurrent of resenment towards the very walkers who pass in their thousands every year. You have a captive audience, you shoudl be shouting a welcome!! Instead, there is a walkers entrance, a demand that hey leave their backpacks outside, and no facilities apart from a few benches where they may sit as long as they buy a drink. Any studies of market forces would show that the word woudl spread quickly were there a big welcome eg walkers facilitieslike an undercover area with toilets for the rainy days, big welcome signs and some menu items, such as big walkers butties, for instance. I for one would leave my packed lunch in my pack (which i DO NOT want to leave outside) and purchase something reasonable and delicious. I would no doubt also buy a drink!
