| Two of our party of six ordered skate with parsley sauce. The skate was so old / bad that there was a noticeable unpleasant aroma of ammonia emanating from their dishes. By the time we had managed to get the attention of the land lady, the rest of our party had finished eating. She offered her apologies and some complementary desserts. When the bill arrived, we saw that we had still been charged the £18.70 the skates! When we politely took this issue up with the landlord, he decided to remove the price of the skates, but then charged us for the 'free' desserts. Considering the fact that skate was immediately removed from the menu after our complaint, we were amazed that they still charged us for them. I will not be returning to the New Inn again, and I recommend anyone considering a visit there might want to consider one of the many excellent other pubs in our beautiful part of Devon.[Report for Removal] | Ant Jacks Crediton Devon |
