| This pub has a good position and is attractively - flamboyantly decorated, giving a good feeling of character inside. When I visited in April 2010, there was a good crowd in there, mainly, I believe for eating, which appeared to be good. This review will be mainly of interest to drinkers of draft beer. There was a choice of three draft ales. Most other drinkers at the bar were on lager and non-beer drinks. My beer was chilled well below recommended temperature. I struggled through half of my pint and told one of the bar staff that the publican should be told his beer was far too cold, and replied that the licensee himself was standing in a group right behind me. I told him too. He said it was perfectly correct. However, he then took a sample and said he agreed it was too cold; he offered me another one, at which I said there was no good reason for me to want another cold beer. At this, I was told abusively to leave. Conclusion. Landlord has no real interest in serving his beer properly, which, notwithstanding the profitability of food, is surely the main reason for a pub's existence?
