A warm welcome from reception to a large clean room was marred by the worst meal I have eaten for many a year. Lukewarm reheated mackeral is not good enough for a "fishing village" nor is a plate of overcooked scallops swimming in grease. If given room 11 I would advise to stay in bar till closing time as a mind numbing droning rises up to room from a generator or such which runs directly below the room. Without doubt the best pub we visited in Beer. The staff were very friendly and the the food was as good as any top restaurant.If you are ever visiting Beer i recommend that you stay in The Dolphin. Another + was they have parking. Will definitely be visiting again soon! [Report for Removal] John

What a fantastic discovery! stayed at a nearby bed and breakfast and wanted to try different venues for dinner but constantly found ourselves re-visiting the Dolphin. The comfortable lounge bar had a great ambience and then after eating in there we moved next door to the hotel's Long Bar where the bar staff - Steven? was fantastic! great to see a local bar employing locals! we had such a good time that we booked into the hotel for September and can't wait to come back! Reception staff - Natalie was helpful and polite with a cheerful smile, I just can't fault the place![Report for Removal] Sharon Loader
