"The Bridge Inn at Ratho near Edinburgh airport is a swish refurbished hotel. BUT! Don't go near their boat luncheons on the historic Union canal. Don't touch them with a barge pole! The big yin wearing a "Boss" button is the master of disaster. Our guests for a family reunion luncheon on board a barge travelled from London and all points of Scotland to sit at a mooring eating what can best be described as one star quality food, while the "boss" looked for a wee part to start the engine. All this after 3 months of planning on our part. Wedding planners in particular should look elsewhere or stick to the major cities and give the rural sector a wide berth. Maintenance of their vessels is not their long suit. It would be better if they dropped the motley fleet from the top of the Falkirk Wheel and stick to running a swish pub." A bit of a disaster.... party of 5 in a fairly quiet restaurant. Disgraceful service to the point I was embarrassed that I had persuaded everyone to go to this place. Everything seemed to be too much bother for the staff - no second round of drinks, sauces had to be asked for, but again seemed to be a lot of bother for them to get, parts of meals were missing but still charged for even when we'd pointed this out. Nobody asked if everything was ok, we had to borrow napkins from another table. When we suggested that serving a baby meal on a piping hot dish was a bad idea the waitress replied 'well I never did it' and walked off. Sorry to say I can't recommend this one and definitely won't be going back. [Report for Removal] A.Customer

Very disappointed. Service was good, but there is nothing nice I can say about the food. Flavourless but with cheap bottled sauce. Caesar salad with warm chicken swimming in greasy dressing and cold chicken. Chewy duck with a nippy bottled sauce. Chef did send his apologies but no wonder there were only 14 diners in on a Friday evening. Gordon Ramsay get your a**e over here and save our local restaurant![Report for Removal] unhappy customer
