| We have visited the Hill Tavern on two occassions and both visits were a dissappointment. The first, 27th December 2007, we were presented with our meal minus the vegetables and chips that we had ordered. On eating what we had,we left the pub and the rest of the order was bought for us some half an hour later. We know this as we were in a group of twenty people. On 12th June we again tried the Hill Tavern and I ordered fish and chips - fish uncooked, sent back only to have another meal with the fish again uncooked. The Chef refused to come out and speak to us. We were the only two people in the resturant, so busy he was not. Mr Gannon has yet to get back to us. | Wow, visited on Mothers day we had a table for 20 booked, the place was absolutley packed out you couldn't move, but that was ok as it was a carvery! it was it has to be said the best carvery I have Ever been to, there were loads of meats to choose from such as Beef, Turkey, Lamb, Pork, also two of our party were veggies one had a nut roast the other had what looked like battered haddock! it looked fresh not frozen. Loads of Veg, all of which were fresh! And to top it all there were 5 homemade desserts to choose from, Wow it made the meal i had strwberry cheesecake my wife had Creme Brulee (best yet she said) Thank you all At the Hill Tavern especially the Chef! you made our mothers Day very special! | I recently called by the Hill Tavern Whilst taking my dog for a walk, They were very welcoming and polite. I had a drink and a chat, with new people, even though they were just settling in themselves!!
