I have lived in the village for about 50 yrs and The George is my local. Sadly, the place is going fdown hill. I get on with the landlord/lady and we are friends but i cannot accept new born babies being allowed in the bar after 7pm. It shouldn't happen. The food has went down hill too. Come on guys, get a grip[Report for Removal] Mallory Hayter

They had a really lively warm log fire when I went in there once with some friends. Another party in there ordered some sandwiches and had so many they ended up sharing them with us! That made it feel like a warm and friendly place. Another time I went in on my own and ordered a baked potato with baked beans and side salad and it was delicious! They do an unusual thing with baked potatoes - they serve them with cottage cheese instead of butter to cut down on the amount of fat. It was enjoyable to eat, richer than butter, and healthier at the same time. Was more expensive than some places, about five pounds something, but worth it as it was a generous and satisfying meal.[Report for Removal] Kelvin

I came here to eat with my three children on a Saturday evening. There was an extensive menu available and the food was OK, though pre-cooked and microwaved. However when it came to paying it turned out that they do not take credit cards, and they are keen to direct you to the cash machine in the pub, for which there is a charge of £1.50 (to access your own money in order to spend it in the pub!)So I offered to pay by cheque, accommpanied by a cheque guarantee card, only to be told that there would be a charge of £1.50 for this too, so I may as well use the cash machine! Hmmm, someone's very keen for that cash machine to be used . . .[Report for Removal] Sarah Harvey

Lunchtime food is overheated precooked food, very poor. I took thre business guests for lunch and found the food well below a modern. acceptable level. They do not accept credit card payment but direct you to a cash machine in the corner for which you are charged a commision fee. Clever business if you can get away with it![Report for Removal] Simon Kewley
