We totally agree with Mrs Crouch's report on 20 September. Having read of this pub's awards we visited on 27 September expecting something excellent. What a mistake - this was the worst meal we have had since moving down here in 2003. The first chicken chasseur I ordered came but the chicken was cold having been precooked and then it looked as if it had fried briefly. The dried carrots were also cold. I complained and they said they would replace it which they did. Not much improvement only in the temperature. Another dessimated piece of chicken hacked at, overcooked and tough topped with limp salty and fatty bacon. We told the man behind the bar who was completely disinterested - water off a duck's back - obviously had become used to hearing this sort of comment. Could never recommend and would never visit again. How do they win these awards? Are they the only entrants[Report for Removal] Anne Griffiths

We visited the True Lovers Knot one lunchtime-WHAT A MISTAKE!! I completely agree with the other gentleman's comments that the food was inedible. All of our meals were terrible, some of them over-cooked and others, inc. fish was soggy and the dried up 'oven' chips were disgusting! Nothing we had was 'homemade' as described on the menu. We wished we hadn't wasted money on puddings from the blackboard as they were bought in and served straight from the freezer-rock hard and cheap-tasting. The owners are very ignorant and 'chav-like' and our waitress had a bad attitude. We cannot believe that this pub has won awards-who is judging this?!?!?!?!? And they have the nerve to enter themselves for the 2009 award!! Also, the toilets were dirty and was clear that they are not maintained. The pub looks lovely from the outside but do not enter-you will be totally disappointed. Never again...[Report for Removal] Mrs Crouch

I took my wife and daughter to this pub for a meal and was very disappointed. We arrived about 7.30pm and ordered food. When it came up it was inedible, having been cooked to death - obviously cooked at lunchtime and then re-heated. I would have made a noise but as both of my women are terrified of making a scene, we just left it. When I paid the bill I said that it was the worst meal I'd seen in a long while and the barman was totally disinterested. Never again as far as we're concerned, but my own silly fault for being hen-pecked![Report for Removal] Tom Livingston

I visited this pub one evening with friends.I found the new reburbishment to be fantastic and the landlord and landlady to be very friendly and welcoming. The staff were very helpful and polite. The food was fantastic, i had a steak which i was told by Tony Marshall, the landlord, was from the famouse kingston lacy estate. It was the most delicious steak i have ever had the pleasure of eating. My companions also enjoyed there meals which included a carbonara, a steak and ale pudding and a fish mixed grill. They all throughly enjoyed the evening whilst enjoying some very delectible wine. I thouroughly recommend visiting this establishment as i am sure you will enjoy it as much as we did.[Report for Removal] penny hepworth
