| I am very hesitant in reviewing this gem as I want to keep it to myself---but being the type of person I am I like sharing!! Also, the new owners of this freehouse deserve recognition for their hard work and obvious effort. Jeff&Di have recently moved in from Whitby and what they have achieved in this time is remarkable. The menu is stunning, varied, imaginative and priced very fairly. Don't visit if you are a "burger&chips" person as you will be disappointed. Not a large range of real ales on but what is there is is kept in lovely condition--Jeff is fussy about his cellar and offers a limited range of wine at "real" prices. Di is a natural at entertaining and loves a chat---both are very hospitable indeed. The little courtyard garden is laid out nicely and it was the reason for us calling in whilst on a walk---what a find. so many disappointments these days but here you will find a real clean, cozy and comfortable "proper pub". Accommodation is available in two lovely rooms at pub prices and we can't wait to stay in the Winter to experience the fire and views so please don't book them before us!! Good luck to Jeff&Di and their lovely, friendly, cheerful staff. Help them and keep the pub chains at bay---who needs them with folk like this around.[Report for Removal] | Terry W Norwich Norfolk |
